Strawberry Dress

A couple of weeks ago was my little sister's birthday, and I tried my hand at making her a dress. As you can see, I'm not an expert at making clothes, but  (thankfully) the dress was...wearable.  The matching
doll-dress was a very last minute thing --- at 8:30 the night before her birthday I decided to make her dolly a matching one and, well, half way through it I gave up getting the measurements right and doing it properly.  As a result, the dress is too long and the top is too wide, but she's a doll and I don't think she minds.

Anyways.

Here are the photos!

I did make the straps a little too long. Okay, way too long. :S  I haven't fixed them yet.

I think I might make another one!  ... one day.

  1. Very cute Alice, I love the material!
You did a great job - well done for having a go!!! The thing I like about dress making is that you can use your creativity and change it; it doesn't have to be exactly like the pattern. I find that with quilting, you really do have to stick to the instructions - so that's a skill I had to learn... and I'm not that good at it!!

It will be great for you to try doing another dress - you certainly did a good job at this one!! the Dolls dress is such a cute idea too!!!

    Love Emily Grace.

  2. It's beautiful, Alice! The straps don't look too long at all.
